bet365联合起来与癌症作斗争, hosted by and supporting the 乔治亚癌症中心 at 奥古斯塔大学, is a unique one mile walk that celebrates and honors all those who have been impacted by this disease.
Together we unite to raise awareness, support, and hope and to become catalysts in the fight against this deadly disease!
Supporters of Unite in the Fight are encouraged to sign up for this event to become advocates for cancer awareness and to help raise the standard of care for our patients at the 乔治亚癌症中心. Everyone is invited to walk together during this cancer awareness walk. Typically, the participants or fundraisers that sign up on the same team will walk together to help bring awareness to our community, region, and beyond.
不! 这是一个社区活动,欢迎大家参加。 We appreciate donations of any amount but they are not required to participate.
This event is open to the public for all friends, family, and community members to register, fundraise, and participate. We encourage registration to allow the Georgia Cancer Center to keep track of our supporters and show our thanks, but it is not required.
After each 联合起来与癌症作斗争 event, we ask our 乔治亚癌症中心 employees to submit grant applications on different projects needed to raise the standard of care for our patients. Once the Unite in the Fight committee has selected the grants, we fund each award with the appropriate percentage of the total raised that year. 我们筹集的钱越多,我们可以资助的项目就越多。 Some projects Unite in the Fight has funded in the past are mental health programs, art supplies for our pediatric patients, breast cancer prosthetic devices, and more. 每一美元都有意义!
我们鼓励每个个人和团队设定募款目标。 We leave this option open to whatever each individual or team can contribute to support this cause. At the event, we will recognize the top teams that raised the most money as well as the top individuals. Team members are encouraged to ask family and friends to support or have their own fundraising events (like bake sales, raffle items, etc.) to donate to their team to support our patient-centric projects at the Georgia Cancer Center. Donations that are not specified to a team or individual are still counted in the total amount raised.
The walk is a one-mile route which starts and ends at the M. Bert Storey 研究 Building at 兰尼沃克大道1410号。 It is a fairly easy walk and supported with police for safety and cheer volunteers for guidance and encouragement. There are plenty of activities for those who may want to support the event but do not wish to walk.
病人 and survivors of any type of cancer are welcome to visit the VIP room for complementary amenities such as refreshments and chair massages. It is important for us to honor them at this event.
If participants cannot make it to the in-person event but would like to show support, they can use the hashtag #UniteintheFight and tag the 乔治亚癌症中心 on social media. Following our social media channels and engaging on our posts helps get the word out to a broader audience.
不仅仅是散步
联合起来与癌症作斗争 is more than a one-mile walk—it’s a celebration of community, creativity, and compassion. In addition to the walk, the event features two exciting raffle opportunities that showcase local talent which directly benefit patient programs at the 乔治亚癌症中心. These raffles not only highlight the generosity and creativity of our community but also help fund vital support services for those battling cancer.
Employees, students, and alumni are encouraged to join us for our Unite in the Fight Fundraiser Game Night!
成为运动的一部分。 Register to walk, form a team, or volunteer your time to help make a difference. 每一步都很重要。
